From tracking hurricane exposures to identifying market potential for a new life/health product, insurers are increasingly using desktop mapping software products, according to vendors. Five years ago desktop mapping software vendors saw the insurance industry as an untapped market, according to Randy Drawas, vice president of marketing communications for the Troy, N.Y.-based MapInfo Corp.
