Aon's continuing operations earnings up in qtr.(third quarter 1996)

On the strength of a 12.2 percent gain in revenues and a 21.6 percent rise in pretax operating income for its insurance brokerage and consulting divisions, Chicago-based Aon Corp. reported increased third-quarter income for its continuing operations. Although investment income on the proceeds from the sales of two life insurance companies were included in comparative results for all operations, the absence of operating income from the two discontinued insurers - Union Fidelity Life Ins.
