Employers have yet to become sensitized to the risk of employee discrimination. Two headlines in the press recently brought this unfortunate fact to my attention. The first one concerned a class-action lawsuit alleging years of racial discrimination at some Avis Rent-A-Car outlets in North and South Carolina.

The second headline was about former Texaco executives who were caught on tape making racial remarks. These are just two of the racial-bias allegations that have became public. Other companies, like the U.S. unit of Mitsubishi Motors and Baliy's, have been hit with discrimination suits.
