Senate pushes product liability bill.(reform)

WASHINGTON--Insurance and business groups are pleased that the Senate leadership included product liability reform as one of its legislative priorities for the 105th Congress. "We were certainly happy to see product liability included in the Senate's list of important legislation," said David Farmer, senior vice president of federal affairs for the Schaumburg, III.-based Alliance of American Insurers.

He said the Alliance understands this is the starting point towards legislation and will work with the business community to see if it can get the political support needed to move the issue forward.
