Washington House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas, has introduced a choice auto insurance proposal that would allow consumers to either opt out of coverage for non-economic damages or cover non-economic damages on a no-fault basis. "It's no secret that auto insurance is so expensive, it makes even the toughest Texan want to cry," Rep.

Armey said at a press conference. "Auto choice will cut the number of expensive lawsuits, reduce fraud and abuse and save billions for drivers all across the nation," he said. "But the most importantly, it will give Americans what they really want--greater freedom to choose an auto insurance plan that best fits their individual needs and budgets." Rep.
