Xerox Corp. has announced a 55pages-per-minute digital copier-printer with a broad menu of accessories as well as future network connectivity for office printing and document scanning.

The Xerox Document Centre 255DC offers a modular architecture that allows a choice of machine configurations, according to Rochester, N.Y.-based Xerox. Modular accessories include: an offset catch fray that provides a 250-sheet capacity for multiple-set copying jobs; a robust finisher that handles tip to 2,000 sheets of document sets and provides single or dual stapling; a bypass tray that accommodates up to 50 sheets; and a high-capacity feeder that holds up to 3,100 sheets of standard paper.

The company added that by year's end, the system will accommodate network connectivity that will enable it to serve as a 55-cpm shared workgroup printer with a range of finishing capabilities, as well as a network scanner. These functions will be accessible from any desktop...
