The Self-Insurance Institute of America might withhold support on a Republican-backed patient's bill of rights if the Senate version of the bill is passed on to President Clinton, according to SIIA Washington Counsel George J. Pantos. The House bill, which the association supports, HR4250, will shift association health plan regulations from states to a federal standard, much like the way employer-sponsored group health plans are regulated under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
