Insurance companies offering risk management insurance systems are making great strides in their battle to overtake independent RMIS providers, according to a leading expert in the industry. Dave Duden, National RMIS Practice Leader for Deloitte & Touche in Hartford, Conn. said independent RMIS companies are losing competitive ground to insurance companies in providing the systems.

"If I were an independent company, I would be pretty worried. We have these mega-brokers and insurance companies with huge development dollars working toward making Internet-based RMIS systems easier to use," Mr. Duden said.
