Chicago-based Aon Corp. reported increases in revenues and net income for the second quarter of 1999, ended June 30, although income for the first half dropped due to special charges. Total revenue for the second quarter was $1.72 billion, up 6.2 percent from $1.62 billion in the prior year.
Brokerage commissions and fees amounted to $1.14 billion, a 7.8 percent increase over last year's $1.06 billion. Premiums and other revenues were $441 million, compared with $423 million, a4.3 percent increase. Investment income saw a slight dip, down 0.7 percent to $139 million from $140 million.
