SAN FRANCISCO -- The growth of Internet and telecommunications technology will be an important influence on the real estate sector this year, according to analysts at Robertson Stephens. "With the explosion of the Internet and telecommunications technology in the past 24 months, several leading (real estate investment trusts) took significant steps in 1999 to incorporate this emerging technology into their operating and investment strategies," said Jay P.
Leupp, senior real estate analyst. "We expect this emerging technology to be a dominant investment theme in 2000."
