Although the usual role of property-casualty insurance companies in securities class-action law-suits is providing directors and officers liability coverage, p-c carriers and insurance services companies are not immune from being named as defendants. Acceptance Insurance Companies, Inc., Policy Management Systems Corp.
and Symons International Group are the most recent companies in the p-c sector to become securities class-action targets in 2000. The three have all denied allegations in the suits.
