Capitalizing on its relationship with Sears' customers, The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has launched a pilot program to include independent agents in its affinity program with Sears. Hartford announced it has chosen 22 independent agencies in three states to kick off its pilot program to sell personal lines insurance to customers of retail giant Sears, Roebuck and Company.

In July of last year, Hartford and Sears announced an alliance to sell personal lines insurance products through the Sears Auto and Home Insurance program in 40 states.
