Malrite may face challenges in bid to take over control of Channel 19 Malrite Communications Group Inc. may face several obstacles in its attempt to take control of independent station WOIO-TV, Channel 19, including challenges from the two competing independent television stations here. Jack White, general manager of WCLQ-TV, Channel 61, said it's likely WCLQ's owners, Channel Communications Inc.

of Nashville, will challenge Malrite's application to transfer control of WOIO. In addition, White said Channel may consider buying WOIO and either shut it down or take its dial position. However, Brian Byrnes, Channel's president, said he had not yet decided whether the company would challenge the application of Cleveland-based Malrite or attempt to buy WOIO....
