Sears creates own competition with paint stores Sears, Roebuck and Co. will go into competition with itself in Greater Cleveland come this summer with the planned opening of a Sears Paint & Hardware specialty store in Mentor. The Mentor store is one of six such outlets Sears probably will open in the Cleveland area this year, according to Mark Rantala, retail leasing associate at Coldwell Banker Commercial Group's Cleveland office, which represented Sears in Mentor.
Mr. Rantala said four stores likely would be in Cuyahoga County, with one each in Lake and Summit counties. The Mentor store will be in a neighborhood shopping center, Heisley Pointe, now under construction at Mentor Avenue and Heisley Road. That location is slightly more than three miles away...
