For several computer users, bigger still is better While personal computers are grabbing all the limelight, bigger-than-a-bread box processors are still managing to retain a loyal following. Technological leaps have allowed manufacturers to squeeze substantial computing power onto a desktop, but many businesses still prefer large-scale computers, according to several local observers.

That includes Carl Upshaw, vice president of Elm & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in applications for software.
