Hospitals win right to build care centers Officials at Meridia Hillcrest Hospital and Mt. Sinai Medical Center last week negotiated settlement agreements with the Ohio Department of Health allowing both hospitals to go ahead with proposed construction projects for outpatient-care centers in Cleveland's eastern suburbs.
Under the agreements, both hospitals will reduce the scope of the proposed projects by reducing expected construction costs and agreeing to provide for 10 years the same level of charity care they've been providing in their respective neighborhoods, according to a copy of the settlement agreement provided by the Health Systems Agency of North Central Ohio.
