American Greetings girds for annual meeting American Greetings Corp. is concerned that a dispute over Holly Hobbie may disrupt its annual meeting this afternoon, July 29. American Greetings' attorney Robert Weber on July 17 sent a letter expressing that concern to the attorney for a New York film producer who is suing the company and had asked to participate in the meeting.
The letter states that AG "is prepared to take all steps necessary ... to assure that the meeting proceeds in an orderly fashion for the benefit of all shareholders." American Greetings spokesman John Hernandis said the company denied a request by the film producer, Richard Dubelman, to be a "formal part" of the annual meeting.
