Banc One looks good as suitor Ameritrust is Banc One's for the taking - if the Columbus super-regional wants it, that is. "If Banc One wants it, it's theirs," said Thomas Brown, banking analyst with the New York securities firm Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette. That seems to be the consensus among most analysts following the two-month courtship of Ameritrust by National City Corp.
