Money woes hit local watchdog. (Ohio Citizen Action)

Lien filed against Ohio Citizen Action Financial difficulties at one of the nation's largest citizen watchdog groups have spread to its Ohio organization. Ohio Citizen Action last month was hit with an $88,734 tax lien by the Internal Revenue Service. The lien was filed June 21 with the Cuyahoga County Recorders Office.
The local organization also is wrestling with a budget deficit and trying to overcome a steep drop in fund raising attributed to the harsh winter. Ohio Citizen Action is an affiliate of Citizen Action Fund, a national organization that technically is based in Cleveland, but has most of its operations in Washington, D.C.
