Steady as she goes. That's the theme for the list of Cleveland's public companies as ranked by market value. Even with dramatic gains by several high-flying companies and a handful of big declines, this year's list didn't change markedly from a year ago. Take the top 25, for example. If it looks pretty familiar, it should.
Indeed, there's only one new face among the giants. OfficeMax Inc., the office supply superstore chain based in Shaker Heights, went public last year and came in at 17 in this year's ranking. OfficeMax was the year's most successful IPO, and its market value of $1.3 billion shot it past dozens of more established companies.
