Local market values hook a ride on growth wave. (share prices of one-third of northeast Ohio's public companies outperform the Standard & Poor's 500 Composite Index)(Stock Performance Guide)

Nearly a third of Northeast Ohio's 88 publicly traded companies saw their market values over the last year outperform the Standard & Poor's 500 Composite Index, which was up 26.5% during the 12-month period that ended May 9. According to the latest data compiled by Crain's Cleveland Business of local public companies ranked by market valuation, 49 companies rode the stock market wave to increased market values during the last 12 months, and 28 of them surpassed the S&P 500.
