Advanced Lighting eyes $61M Solon deal. (Advanced Lighting Technologies Inc.; Solon, Ohio)

Advanced Lighting Technologies Inc. in Twinsburg is considering a $61 million building renovation and capital investment project in Solon that will create more than 130 jobs at the maker of metal halide lighting products. The project has been outlined in applications for tax reductions filed with the city of Solon and the Ohio Tax Credit Authority in Columbus.
Rick Barone, Advanced Lighting's director of investor relations, last week declined comment on the project. Officials in Solon who are familiar with the project said plans call for Advanced Lighting to make substantial renovations to the manufacturing plant and office building that it has leased at 32000 Aurora Road in Solon.
