Clinic embarks on effort to centralize open MRIs.

RAQUEL SANTIAGO Rather than duplicating open MRI services at most or all of its member hospitals, the Cleveland Clinic Health System has opted to share that technology at centers on the East and West sides. The system's first open magnetic resonance imaging center has opened at the Clinic's Westlake Family Health Center, 30033 Clemens Road in Westlake.
A second open MRI center is planned for Hillcrest Medical Building #1 at 6803 Mayfield Road in Mayfield Heights, across from Hillcrest Hospital. Additional open MRI centers likely will be opened by the Clinic system, although there is no time frame for doing so, said Dr. Michael Recht, head of the Section of Outside Imaging at the Clinic.
