St. Vincent Charity Hospital has recruited a new director of cardiothoracic surgery from Texas who will help increase patient volume and collaborate with University Hospitals Health System. The arrival of Derrick D. McElroy is spearheading an effort by the hospital to reinvest in its cardiothoracic surgery program.
"St. Vincent is in the process of going through a renaissance," said Alan Channing, St. Vincent's president. He said Dr. McElroy's arrival "is a result of St. Vincent recognizing its historical role in providing service to this community and the opportunity to strengthen" the hospital's cardiothoracic program.
