Preformed preparing plan to double sales, boost stock.(Preformed Line Products Co. )(Brief Article)

Preformed Line Products Co. is developing a plan to double sales in the next five years at the same time that the maker of wire and cable products seeks to increase interest in its lightly traded stock with a listing on the Nasdaq stock market. Robert G. Ruhlman, Preformed president and chief executive officer, said the sales plan is in its early stages but will include new products and acquisitions.

He said the plan is expected to get a boost from growth in demand for Preformed products used on power transmission lines. "I have challenged the staff, but I think the sales goal is realistic," Mr. Ruhlman said.
