The Weatherhead School of Management wants up to a dozen of Northeast Ohio's largest companies to help the school's executive education program develop research topics -- and pay for the privilege. Richard Headley, interim associate dean of Weatherhead Executive Education at Case Western Reserve University, said the program this month will begin approaching about 30 companies it has targeted for possible participation in a consortium aimed at devising research topics around the theme of how people and technology can work together.

He wouldn't identify the companies, from which Weatherhead Executive Education hopes to attract eight to 12 noncompeting businesses willing to pay $30,000 a year to work with CWRU faculty. For $30,000, each company would have...
