The pressure is on for manufacturers to adopt a new version of the ISO 9000 quality system. The developer of the ISO standards in Geneva, Switzerland, has established a deadline of December 2003 for companies to revise their systems to meet the new standards and obtain recertification as an ISO 9000: 2000 company, as the new designation is known.
``The changes are creating a lot of business for consultants,'' said Lisa D'Agostino, a process improvement consultant at Camp Inc. in Cleveland, a nonprofit economic development group.
