LTV galvanizing venture may again see light of day.(L-S Electro-Galvanizing Co., point venture with Sumitomo Metal Industries)(Brief Article)

L-S Electro-Galvanizing Co., a local joint venture between LTV Corp. and Sumitomo Metal Industries Ltd. of Japan that furloughed most of its 100 employees following LTV's decision to suspend steelmaking operations, could get another chance to make a go of things in the competitive metal processing business.

A source familiar with Sumitomo said efforts would be made to evaluate market demand for the galvanizing company's services and to identify new sources of the cold-rolled steel it processes, which had come from LTV's Cleveland Works. The intention is to save and restructure L-S Electro-Galvanizing as an ongoing, independent business, according to the source, who asked not to be identified.
