Lakewood Hospital center slated for $10M expansion.(Brief Article)

A $10 million, three-story addition at Lakewood Hospital's Urgent Care Center in Westlake will more than double the size of the center to provide much-needed office space for area doctors and a new West Side imaging center. With the existing center and neighboring Fairview Hospital filled to capacity, the construction project will add about 68,000 square feet and an additional 179 parking spaces.

The current building at Interstate 90 and Columbia Road is 40,700 square feet and has 129 parking spaces. Lakewood Hospital will spend $6 million to construct the building shell and an estimated $10 million overall, though the project's total cost is hard to calculate because the layout and design of the addition's interior haven't been finalized, said Ernie Grodi,...
