Dunmead, vice president of technology for OM Group Inc. of Cleveland, is a scientist with an affection for the bottom line. ``Yes, I am a scientist, but I enjoy finding ways to turn science into profits,'' Dr. Dunmead said. He certainly has an impressive resume when it comes to research.
While a group leader during most of the 1990s in the Advanced Materials Laboratory at Dow Chemical Co. in Midland, Mich., Dr. Dunmead's work in powder synthesis resulted in 30 patents. However, at OM Group, which specializes in developing metal-based chemicals, his job is to put research to work for the customer.
