Despite war, it's mostly biz as usual.(Cover Story)

Byline: SHANNON MORTLAND Perhaps because it has been anticipated for so long, the outbreak of war with Iraq has produced a scattered and largely muted response from Northeast Ohio's business community. The beginning of the U.S.-led invasion last week saw few companies change their routines.

Even advertisers on television that might be expected to pull their ads once the networks began departing from their regularly scheduled programming to cover the war didn't stampede for the exits. Lynda Nicholls, general sales manager for WOIO-TV, Channel 19, and WUAB-TV, Channel 43, said only about 10 advertisers wanted off the air in the first 48 to 72 hours of war coverage. ``I'm stunned by how little (the war) is affecting (advertising),'' Ms. Nicholls said....
