Byline: SHANNON MORTLAND Developing condominiums and biofuels are a far cry from running supermarkets, but after 38 years in the grocery store business, Akron's Bolognue family is ready to head in new directions. Bolognue Holdings, which on June 2 will complete a deal to sell its six Apple supermarkets to Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle Inc., now is half-owner of a new, 220-condo development project on Lake Erie in Vermilion.

Bolognue also is an investor in a new company called Liquid Resources of Ohio, which is buying a 45,000-square-foot building in Medina where it will recycle waste liquids into ethanol to blend with gasoline, said Joe Bolognue, president of Bolognue. Liquid Resources expects to begin production by the end of the year, he said....
