Byline: SHAWN A. TURNER Natalie Darus was in need of a bank when she arrived this year on the campus of Kent State University. Huntington Bancshares Inc. made sure the 18-year-old freshman didn't need to look far to find one. Over the last two years, the Columbus-based bank has bolstered its presence at colleges and universities in the northern section of Ohio, stretching from Toledo to Youngstown.

The process has included investing heavily in advertising, office renovations and new ATMs, though a bank spokesman wouldn't reveal the cost of the effort.
