Leading the overseas charge in many cases are manufacturing companies seeking to take advantage of low production costs abroad.
That's good news for cities such as Cleveland which, despite recent tough times in the sector, traditionally have had manufacturing-based economies. In a push to expand east of the Mississippi River, San Francisco-based Wells Fargo & Co. recognized that development and in April opened a regional banking office in downtown Cleveland.
