That might be the impression in some corners of the business world, but you'd have a hard time believing it from looking at Northeast Ohio's top-performing companies based on their changes in market value during the last 12 months.

It was a good year for most every public company in the region, regardless of their industry segment. Of the 59 companies that appeared on the Crain's Cleveland Business list of largest public companies in both 2005 and 2006, 48, or 81%, saw their market capitalizations rise for the 12-month period that ended April 28, 2006.
