The big story: OM Group Inc. agreed to sell all its nickel assets to Norilsk Nickel, a Russian mining and metallurgical company, for $408 million cash. The Cleveland-based maker of metal-based chemicals will use the proceeds to improve its financial flexibility and to strengthen its operations, possibly through strategic acquisitions.

OM Group's board has approved the sale, which is subject to regulatory approval. Rolling the dice: Jacobs Entertainment Inc. wants one of its longtime executives on the board of MTR Gaming Group Inc., the parent of Mountaineer Racetrack and Gaming Resort in Chester, W. Va. A Securities and Exchange Commission filing indicates Jacobs Entertainment last month asked MTR to name Ian Stewart, Jacobs' president of pari-mutuel wagering...
