Goodyear heads list of firms showing market cap gains; Nearly 70% of region's top public companies net increase; 16 post rise of more than 50%.(Special Report)

Northeast Ohio's standout public companies of the last 12 months, based on their changes in market capitalization, largely come from traditional industrial sectors, including rubber, iron ore, aircraft parts and specialty metals. Of the 56 companies that appeared on the Crain's Cleveland Business list of largest public companies in both 2006 and 2007, 39, or nearly 70%, saw their market capitalizations rise for the 12-month period that ended April 30, 2007.
