Dallas company gets in line to buy MCN's Genix Group. (Affiliated Computer Services Inc.; MCN Inc.)

Affiliated Computer Services Inc., a chief compettor of the Dearborn-based Genix Group Inc., is in the hunt to become the next owner of the data-processing and computer-services company. MCN Inc., the Detroit-based holding company of Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. and Genix, announced last month plans to sell its subsidiary.

Doug Tayler, executive director of planning for Genix, said the process to find a buyer is ongoing. He confirmed that Dallas-based ACS is among a group of companies interested in acquiring Genix, but he deferred further comment to MCN.
