Champion Enterprises Inc. (NYSE: CHB), the Auburn Hills-based housing manufacturer, reported for the quarter that ended April 3 net income of $21.2 million or 43 cents a share on revenue of $625 million, compared with $17.6 million or 36 cents on revenue of $463 million during the same period the previous year.

Comerica Inc. (NYSE: CMA), the Detroit bank-holding company, reported first-quarter net income of $159 million or 98 cents a share, up from $144 million or 88 cents in the first quarter of 1998. Total assets were $36.5 billion as of March 31, up from $36.4 billion a year earlier. Total loans were $30.9 billion, up from $27.2 billion.
