AMERITECH'S TIME IN LOCAL COURTS ADDS UP.

LANSING - In just about any given month, you can find Ameritech Michigan and its competitors at loggerheads before state regulators or in the courts. They're battling over what they are required to do to compete, or just do business. Each side says the other isn't playing fair, and legal challenges have piled up.

It's not the atmosphere many had hoped for when the Michigan Legislature deregulated some telecommunications services in 1991, or when legislators revisited the telecommunications bill in 1995.
