Childtime Learning Centers Inc. (Nasdaq: CTIM) reported earnings of $974,000 or 18 cents a share on revenue of $29 million during the second quarter, which ended Oct. 15, compared with earnings of $914,000 or 17 cents during the same quarter last year. The Farmington Hills-based child-care provider said the gains came from prudently managing child-care centers.
Six centers were added during the second quarter, while five centers experiencing losses were closed. The company went public in February 1996. Since then it has grown from 167 centers to 274. Childtime employs more than 5,000 professional educators and caregivers, and serves more than 30,000 children and their families in 22 states and the District of Columbia.
