Franklin CEO: Merger with Bingham makes both stronger.(Franklin Bank's CEO Joseph Horonzy, Bingham Financial Services Corp.)(Brief Article)

The way Joseph Horonzy sees it, making Franklin Bank N.A. a subsidiary of Bingham Financial Services Corp. is the perfect marriage of two companies that do certain things very well, but other things not so well. Bingham named Horonzy, a Detroit banking veteran, Franklin's CEO last week at the same time it announced its purchase of Franklin.

Horonzy will join Bingham May 1, and will take over as Franklin CEO once the deal closes. Horonzy said Southfield-based Franklin has attracted low-cost deposits as a source of funds, especially business checking accounts, which are the focus of its memorable radio advertising.
