PSC dismisses rate cases, acts to encourage competition The Michigan Public Service Commission has dismissed several rate cases and complaints involving the Detroit Edison Co. and Consumers Energy Co. It has issued orders designed to propel competition under electric-restructuring laws. In one set of orders, the PSC established the way companies can get state licenses to supply electricity and compete with Edison and Consumers.
Alternate suppliers must show financial capability, technical competence to engage in energy transactions, and ability to operate safely.
