lllinois' Unicom wants to sell electricity in Michigan.

LANSING - Illinois' Unicom Energy Inc. has a natural-gas foothold in Michigan. Now it wants to supply electricity. The company is Michigan's latest licensed alternate electricity supplier, a prelude to competing with Michigan's home utilities such as Detroit Edison Co. and Consumers Energy Co.
The subsidiary of Chicago-based Unicom Corp. has about 1,000 natural-gas customers in Consumers' and Michigan Consolidated Gas Co.'s territories and wants to supply electricity to commercial and industrial businesses as Michigan customer choice unfolds.
