St. Joseph Mercy conducts audit before new CEO arrives.(Brief Article)(Statistical Data Included)

St. Joseph Mercy Hospital-Oakland in Pontiac is undergoing an internal compliance audit as the hospital awaits its new CEO. Frank Sottile, M.D., the hospital's medical director, has been placed on paid administrative leave while the audit is performed, said Stephen Shivinsky, vice president of corporate communications and public relations for Trinity Health, the Novi-based parent company of St.
Joseph Mercy. Shivinsky said leave is routinely required of senior managers when the health system performs an internal audit. Neither Sottile nor any other staff member of the hospital is under suspicion of wrongdoing, he said.
