Departures at Compuware lead to questions about structure.(Brief Article)

Compuware Corp. Chairman and co-founder Peter Karmanos has to decide whether he's going to run Compuware like a private company or the public company that it is, said two former executives. If Karmanos is going to lead his 28-year-old company back to the rapid growth it saw in its first couple of decades, he's going to have to allow changes in his business model, the two former executives said following the Jan.

Karmanos, who is also the president and CEO at Compuware, said through a company spokeswoman that the company is changing to accommodate a software and services market that is shifting from a strictly mainframe focus to a market that is becoming more focused on computer networks....
