Compuware cuts 40-50 jobs in unit.

Compuware Corp. cut 40-50 nonbillable administrative jobs from its professional services division this month in an effort to increase profits in the beleaguered division. The company eliminated the in-office jobs of people who worked as liaisons between the services division's customers and the Compuware employees who do contracted computer work.
Lisa Elkin, Compuware director of corporate communications and investor relations, said the more important news is that the company is adding revenue-generating jobs to its professional services division.
