The offices of Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. cover the globe, and less than 1 percent of its 700 million square feet of managed property is in metro Detroit. But the Chicago-based property manager is among the largest in the area, overseeing about 6 million square feet in Michigan and employing about 150 people.

Although its corporate headquarters is out of state, Jones Lang LaSalle's Detroit executives say they understand the area.
