Plagued by a lack of clear leadership, suspect commitments from its founders an uncertainty regarding product offerings, Covisint L.L.C. is struggling to inspire loyalty from automotive suppliers. The automotive Internet exchange handled $129 billion in transactions during the first six months of this year and expects to handle about $300 billion annually.

But many suppliers have not yet embraced it. General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler AG founded Covisint in February of 2000.
