Oscar ``Bud'' Marx III was getting ready to settle into his second home in Laguna Beach, Calif., when a neighbor came to him with a question about an investment in a California-based auto supplier. That answer brought Marx, a former Ford Motor Co.

and Electro-Wire Products Inc. executive, back to Detroit. That company, Dearborn-based Amerigon Inc., completed its move from California recently. Amerigon (Nasdaq: ARGN) makes a unique cooling and heating system for car seats using thermal electric devices.
